| Text | Anna Mae Rigney September 30, 1933 - March 04, 2022 Anna Mae Rigney, 88, of Ages, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 30, 1933, to the late McKinley Skidmore and Amanda Blevins Skidmore. Anna was a dedicated Christian and had served the Lord for 73 years. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Dillard Rigney. They were married 63 years, 1 month, 14 days and were truly a match made in Heaven. Together they attended church at the Ages Mountain Assembly Church of God where they could be found praying every weekday at noon. They always left early for church and would ride around the Ages community to invite everyone they saw to come to church. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by three sons, Paul Rigney, Sr., George Rigney and Dillard "JuneBug" Rigney, Jr.; a grandson, Brandon Rigney; four brothers, Lawrence Skidmore, Frank Skidmore, Jim Skidmore and Willie Skidmore; and three sisters, Alice Napier, Gracie Gunn and Polly Harrison. Survivors include four children which she loved with all of her heart, Larry "Gabby" Rigney and wife, Mary, Ages; Phyllis Curtis and husband, Monk, Ages; Janie Luttrell and husband, Danny, Middlesboro; and her baby, Deanie Rigney, Ages. Also surviving are 18 beautiful grandchildren, Amy Johnson, Jamie Truitt, Shawn "Jack" Rigney, Larry Rigney, Jr., David Rigney, Paul Rigney, Jr., Tonya Rigney, Maggie Rigney Goley, Susan Curtis, Shirley Curtis, Clarence "Monk" Curtis, Bradley Luttrell, Megan Luttrell, Debra Smith, Kenny Rigney, Jonathan Rigney, Alex Rigney, Jonavan Rigney; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a sister, Evelyn "Justice" Eddins, Coudersport, PA; a brother-in-law, Pete Rigney and wife, Brenda, Ages; and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews who she truly loved. The Rigney family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Harlan County Health Department for their help and especially Crystal Carrington who was Anna Mae's nurse aide. "Mom loved her so much and it was obvious that Crystal loved her too. Crystal went above and beyond every day! We can never thank you enough for all you've done." Visitation will be held Monday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 1 pm at the Ages Mountain Assembly Church of God with the Reverend Donnie Harrison and the Reverend Jeff Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with Anna Mae's grandsons and great-grandsons serving as pallbearers. | |
